UKCountryMusic’s March 2026 announcement of the festival’s first Manchester edition, read by a diarist who is excited and a little confused by the dates

Dear diary, UKCountryMusic reported on 12 March 2026 that Country to Country, which it calls the biggest country music festival in Europe, will hold its first Manchester edition in 2027. It is a three-day event at the AO Arena and venues across the city centre. That sounds like a plan and a half.
The article is now seven months old. It also sits a little awkwardly with the September line-up, so I give both and let you compare.
What It Says
The AO Arena is the main venue, and New Century Hall will host additional performances, with more satellite venues to be announced. The Manchester Accommodation BID, a citywide initiative to attract major cultural events, is supporting the edition. The 2027 line-up was to be revealed later in 2026, and the September article gives names.
The article says tickets would go on sale at 10am on a Friday 20 March, with an early bird pre-sale available by sign-up.
The History
As a history student I enjoyed this bit: C2C launched in 2013 at The O2 in London with Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood, the article says, and the 2026 edition was headlined by Zach Top, Keith Urban and Brooks & Dunn. So in thirteen years it has grown from one arena to three cities, if the Manchester plan holds.
A good festival is a small piece of cultural history, and I would like to be there when the next page is turned.
The Quotes
The article quotes press coverage. Holler noted that the popularity of the UK country extravaganza is at an all-time high. The Express called C2C one of the UK’s most spectacular annual festivals. Time Out said country music is best enjoyed together, which is what makes Country 2 Country so great.
Those are quotes about the festival, from outlets that cover it, and promoters like to print praise. I note that, and I also agree with the Time Out one.
The Dates Problem
The March article does not give festival dates beyond 2027, and it mentions March 2027 only in a related headline. The Smooth Radio piece from September gives 12 to 14 March 2027 and names the O2, the Hydro and the AO Arena. I take that to mean all three, but I have not seen the organisers confirm it.
The honest summary is that Manchester is announced, and the exact dates and venues should be checked on the official site.
Why Manchester
I am not from Manchester, but I have changed trains there and the city has always seemed to me to have a sense of occasion. A festival that spreads into satellite venues across the centre could make the city sound like a country song for a weekend.
The article does not say what the satellite venues will be, and I will not guess.
The Other View
Local residents of any city that hosts a festival can have mixed feelings about crowds and noise, and the article, an announcement, does not ask them. I have no quote and will not make one up. The BID’s interest is presumably in hotel rooms and bars.
I would like to hear from a Mancunian.
Night
The library is closing. The rain has found the window. The festival is a long way off.
Goodnight, diary. Check the date.
A Note on Dates
The announcement is from March and the line-up is from September, so the story has moved on since the article I describe. I have tried not to mix the two up, and where they disagree, as on the ticket dates, I have said so. If you are planning a trip, trust the organiser, not me.
A diary is a good place to be wrong in public, and a bad place to book a hotel.
What a BID Is
The article says the Manchester Accommodation BID supports the edition. A BID, in general, is a business improvement district, a group of local businesses that pay a levy to promote an area. I take this from general knowledge and not from the article, which describes it only as a citywide initiative to attract major cultural events.
So the support comes from the hotel side of the city. That is natural, and it is worth knowing.
Liner Notes
If you need something to read while the band tunes up, try the Cebu condo saga as told by the comic press: a Manila News report on a broker with three brochures, a London Prat dispatch on British pensioners needing a vicar (direct link https://prat.uk/cebu-estate-agents-demand-character-references/) and a Bohiney piece on two-hour showings. The wider network lives at prat.uk and bohiney.com.
Note: Philippine authorities are examining unproven allegations about Thomas Markle Sr., who lived in Cebu until earlier this year, as GMA News and the Guardian have reported. No charges have been filed. Child protection is a serious matter; the jokes here are about a property market and the paperwork.
