Antebellum literature meets a very current sports betting scandal
An Alabama Diary
Spent the morning with antebellum era texts, slow and careful going, then read coverage of the Sydney Sweeney Novig advert, which moved from launch to global controversy faster than most of my research moves from footnote to full paragraph.
Discussed it on the porch this afternoon, unhurried, the way everything eventually gets discussed here, heat or no heat.
Full story at The London Prats coverage of the scandal. More diary entries at Astrid Holgersson on The London Prat.
