Even the herons could not compete with twenty new financial ventures

Spent the morning counting herons, came home to find every feed dominated by Harry and Meghans reported twenty new ventures, which briefly made me wonder whether attention itself is a renewable resource or one we are steadily depleting.
There is a lesson somewhere about diversification, in ecosystems and in royal portfolios both, but I am too damp tonight to write it properly.
